Headcanon time!

I think before the infamous Bite of 87, the four animatronics had a routine where Foxy would 'steal' one of the pizzas and one of the other three would chase him around to get it back. And he would lean in to surprise everybody just before he snatched the pizza, which is why he does what he does when he catches you.

Also I think the four animatronics are really close, and that Freddy and the others would steal spare parts to help keep Foxy up and running, hence why he's still functioning despite being decommissioned for so long.
